ShodZ Entertainment & Promotions is a Close Corporation company, 100 percent owned by young black and vibrant South African from the dusty streets of Gugulethu, one of the most famous township in the country that has produced lots of talent in sport, well known musicians, high profile business people, politicians and university graduates.
ShodZ, as an individual who begun to see his passion in the entertainment industry in 1999 while he was still employed by one of the leading insurance companies in South Africa and the African continent as a whole, Metropolitan Life, as an Administrator. During my stint at Metropolitan, I birthed a vision of building a relationship with my fellow colleagues outside of Metropolitan. I had created a culture to encourage young colleagues between the ages from 18 years old to 35 years old at the time to go out as a group and enjoy each other’s company by having fun, engage with different people, to get the best opportunity to interact and network. My mission then was to give opportunity to people who had not been exposed to the beauty that Cape Town had to offer, I had discovered most youth who leave in Cape Town were and still are limiting themselves in good lifestyle, this had been a great way to promote a culture exchange and lots of fun together. Hence I came up with the concept of outings, monthly gatherings. I was inspired by the response I was always getting from the group.
